Handling flower tiles

can choose to replace or to discard a flower tile; meld/replace - continue the turn, each melded flower tile is Flower Tiles 1 point; discard - end of turn, cannot be claimed, it is a perfectly safe discard

Adding up basic points

basic points = sum of point values of all fan in the winning hand

when winning - say Hu, turn your tiles face up, take the winning tile, put it separately, count your points

when counting - take some discards, put them in a line; face up = 1 point, face down = 10 points; announce each fan and its points; do not touch any other tiles except discards

count points for each fan in a separate line

can replace 10 x face up = 1 x face down; can put face up tiles in 2 layers; announce the total points

Making payments

basic points = as counted, extra points = always 8; win by discard - discarder pays basic points + extra points, each other pays extra points only, winner receives basic points + 3 x extra points; self-drawn win - each other pays basic points + extra points, winner receives 3 x basic points + 3 x extra points

“Non-Identical Principle”

The Non-Identical Principle - the same fan cannot be counted twice if tiles overlap, such as in Mixed Shifted Chows of 234-345-456 and 345-456-567 in 234-345-456-567-11
